Mechanical/Fluids Engineer

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret P&IDs
• Breakdown of design requirements
• Capture and organize documentation for design packages including BOM, CAD models, and vendor data
• Design process piping and mechanical systems considering thermal expansion and pressure drop
• Size and select tubing, piping, and components such as valves, regulators, and filters
• Conduct engineering analysis using hand calculations, FMEA, and simulations
• Participate in design reviews and work with vendors on component selection
• Support root cause analysis and continuous process improvement
• Provide mentorship to less experienced engineers

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• 3-5 years of experience in Mechanical or Fluid Design Engineering
• 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (Autodesk Inventor or Solidworks)
• Strong knowledge of compressible and incompressible flow
• Hands-on experience with mechanical assembly, testing, and troubleshooting
• Ability to develop design concepts through to full-scale manufacturing
• Excellent communication and project management skills

Preferred Qualifications

• 6-10 years of experience in Mechanical or Fluid Design Engineering
• Experience with construction, fabrication, and testing of large-scale process equipment
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems and Autodesk Vault
• Experience leading design reviews and drawing approvals
• Knowledge of ASME B31.3 Process Piping
