Mechanical Technician

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, operate, and maintain turbine driven engines, gas compressors, standby generator engines, and auxiliary equipment
• Assist in full or partial engine and gas compressor overhauls
• Perform precision measurement and alignment functions
• Read, interpret, and update technical drawings and schematics
• Plan and coordinate mechanical maintenance activities, including routine corrective and preventive maintenance
• Analyze engine performance reports and initiate corrective actions to improve procedures
• Complete work orders and enter data into maintenance management systems
• Demonstrate safety leadership and excellence in all tasks

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Relevant experience in the natural gas or energy industry
• Completion of a second year of a trades program or two years of vocational/technical training
• Valid driver's license and a safe driving record
• Ability to be on-call 24/7 for emergency response
• Ability to work in adverse weather, perform heavy lifting (50 pounds), and work in cramped conditions
• Ability to travel to other company locations with overnight stays up to 40% of the time during peak periods

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience maintaining and troubleshooting turbine engines and turbines
• Knowledge of internal combustion engines, reciprocating and centrifugal gas compressors, and standby generators
• Experience interpreting technical reference documents and reading complex drawings
• Proficiency with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
