Mechanical Technician

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, operate, and maintain gas-fired large-bore reciprocating engines, gas compressors, standby generator engines, and auxiliary equipment.
• Assist in full or partial large bore reciprocating engine and gas compressor overhauls.
• Perform precision measurement and alignment functions and analyze engine performance reports.
• Read, interpret, and update technical drawings and schematics, including P&ID and electrical.
• Plan, coordinate, and perform mechanical maintenance activities, including routine corrective and preventive maintenance.
• Inspect, repair, and set regulators and relief valves.
• Complete work orders and manage data within SAP.
• Demonstrate safety leadership and excellence in all tasks.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Relevant experience in the natural gas or energy industry (including military experience).
• Completion of a third year of a trades program or two years of vocational/technical training.
• 2+ years of relevant work experience.
• Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.
• Ability to be on-call 24/7 for emergency response.
• Ability to work in adverse weather, handle heavy lifting (50 lbs), and work in cramped conditions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience maintaining and troubleshooting large bore reciprocating engines and turbines.
• Knowledge of internal combustion engines, centrifugal gas compressors, and standby generators.
• Experience interpreting technical reference documents and reading complex drawings.
• Proficiency with SAP or other computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
