Mechanical Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on trucks and heavy vehicles
• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults in diesel engines, transmissions, and driveline systems
• Inspect, maintain, and repair braking, suspension, steering, and cooling systems
• Replace defective mechanical parts and components
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness
• Troubleshoot vehicle breakdowns and restore functionality
• Perform lubrication, adjustments, and scheduled servicing activities
• Test vehicles after maintenance and repairs
• Maintain maintenance records, service reports, and work orders
• Ensure compliance with company safety policies and HSE requirements

Requirements

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Technology, or Heavy Vehicle Maintenance
• 2–4 years of experience in truck, heavy vehicle, or fleet maintenance
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, driveline systems, brakes, and suspension
• Proficiency in using vehicle diagnostic tools and workshop equipment
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals
• Strong problem-solving skills
