About the role
Responsibilities
- Maintain and troubleshoot chemical and electrochemical systems ranging from R&D to pilot scales
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, including pump and valve rebuilds, cleaning, and pipe replacements
- Conduct routine calibrations on instruments measuring temperature, pressure, and flow rates
- Adhere to laboratory safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment following 6S standards
- Contribute to the construction of new test systems and supporting infrastructure
- Support facility maintenance and building-related work requests, such as light plumbing, HVAC, and furniture assembly
- Ensure facility safety, including managing wall damage, ceiling tiles, and exterior maintenance
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3+ years of industry experience as a technician or operator in a chemical, manufacturing, or R&D environment
- Strong understanding of fluid flow processes and associated equipment
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting pumps, valves, filters, and instrumentation
- Basic building maintenance skills and a basic understanding of HVAC, boiler, and chiller systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Strong commitment to laboratory safety and detailed documentation
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical certification or an associate’s degree in a related field
- 2+ years of additional industry experience in chemical or R&D environments
- Experience troubleshooting low-voltage power, signal, and electrical equipment
- Experience developing preventative maintenance programs for industrial or building systems
- Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
