Mechanical Technician

Responsibilities

• Work with engineers to create and test bearing technology specific to centrifugal compression
• Operate laboratory assembly and measurement equipment, including laser welders, hydraulic presses, micrometers, and torque wrenches
• Fabricate supporting components through heat treating, welding, brazing, soldering, grinding, and drilling
• Collect and document build data to ensure compliance with standards and takt times
• Assist with general laboratory upkeep, maintenance, 5S+1 audits, and safety walks

Requirements

• Associate degree in a related field and three years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics
• Practical, hands-on experience working with mechanical equipment and basic instrumentation
• Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer applications
• Legal authorization to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications

• Five or more years of experience in a manufacturing or laboratory environment
• Hands-on expertise in mechanical and/or electrical manufacturing equipment
• Tool and die experience
• Familiarity with control systems and basic PLC concepts
• Experience with brazing and soldering techniques
• Background or certifications in automotive or diesel mechanics
