Mechanical Systems Engineer

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and administrative management support for the operation and maintenance of campus mechanical systems, including HVAC, steam, and water utilities.
• Offer technical guidance for equipment procurement, prepare shop drawings, and develop preventative maintenance instructions for facility personnel.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems (high and low voltage) to identify opportunities for efficiency and reliability improvements.
• Manage and coordinate system outages for daily operations and new project interconnections.
• Oversee fiscal management and administration of department service contracts, including electrical manpower and water treatment.
• Assist in the advanced analysis and design of campus-wide mechanical systems such as chilled water, potable water, and sewerage.
• Maintain utility system records, including consumption, gas system reporting, and storm water compliance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's of Science in Engineering.
• 3 years of experience in facility maintenance.
• Valid driver's license.
• Working knowledge of electrical systems (110V - 13,800V).

Preferred Qualifications

• FE Exam certification.
