About the role
Responsibilities
- Support the design of mechanical systems, equipment skids, and plant infrastructure under senior guidance
- Develop and revise CAD models, drawings, layouts, and engineering documentation
- Assist with equipment and component selection using design inputs and vendor information
- Support fabrication, assembly, integration, commissioning, and testing activities
- Troubleshoot mechanical systems and equipment with appropriate guidance
- Document design decisions, test results, and lessons learned clearly and accurately
- Coordinate with process, automation, electrical, and operations teams to complete work
- Follow engineering standards, templates, and document control requirements
- Work safely and comply with all health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, or a closely related discipline
- 0–2 years of relevant experience in mechanical engineering, process equipment, or industrial systems
- Foundational knowledge of fluid systems, heat transfer, and mechanical equipment
- Proficiency with CAD tools for 3D modeling and drawing development
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work hands-on in lab, pilot, or plant environments for equipment builds and testing
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant internship, co-op, or research experience in mechanical design or process systems
- Exposure to engineering documentation such as P&IDs and assembly drawings
- Experience in an R&D, pilot plant, startup, or fast-paced technical environment
- Familiarity with pumps, valves, piping systems, heat exchangers, or material handling equipment
