About the role

Responsibilities

  • Translate client requirements into technical solutions throughout the entire project lifecycle.
  • Provide technical contributions including design, system integration, and support to ensure projects meet deadlines and budgets.
  • Perform system failure analysis, diagnostics, and develop integrated solutions in coordination with multidisciplinary teams and suppliers.
  • Analyze, clarify, and align system requirements with other engineering disciplines to establish a common technical vision.
  • Prepare operational and system-level concepts at the train scale based on derived requirements.
  • Review Interface Control Documents (ICD) and align communication issues with interfacing systems.
  • Review verification and validation plans to ensure compliance with requirements.
  • Support verification and validation activities, including test procedure preparation, test execution support, and train certification.
  • Support system configuration management, technical documentation, and the transition to production.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of practical experience in systems lifecycle activities.
  • Proven experience in the design and integration of railway systems or similar transport sectors.
  • Expertise in system failure analysis, diagnostics, and solution integration.
  • Bilingual proficiency in French and English.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to travel occasionally within Canada and internationally.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Rational DOORS.
  • Membership in the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).
  • Proficiency in a third language to support international partners and clients.
