Mechanical Supervisor

Responsibilities

• Organize and lead a team of technicians across various craft specialties
• Provide guidance, instruction, and directives for skilled maintenance activities
• Perform diagnosis and repairs on motors, gearboxes, conveyors, pumps, and rotating equipment
• Execute repair and maintenance of equipment and facilities, including pipe assembly and installation
• Manage work orders, employee time, and procurement of parts and services
• Ensure strict adherence to safety practices and relevant Federal, State, and Local codes
• Maintain clean and secure shops, equipment, and tools
• Estimate labor costs and acquire competitive pricing for supplies

Requirements

• Ability to read diagrams, schematics, blueprints, and shop drawings
• Proficiency with hand tools and power tools for repairing wiring and equipment
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Basic computer proficiency
• Ability to prioritize duties and evaluate personnel performance
• Capacity to work in outdoor environments with extreme temperatures (above 100°F or below 32°F)
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks for up to 12 hours a day

Preferred Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 4+ years of progressive experience in skilled trades
• Background in wood products industry
