Mechanical Superintendent

Responsibilities

• Manage daily mechanical construction operations to ensure compliance with project specifications, timelines, budgets, and safety protocols
• Coordinate and supervise mechanical crews to ensure effective productivity and adherence to safety practices
• Act as the primary liaison between the company, subcontractors, clients, and other stakeholders
• Collaborate with Project Managers to optimize resource allocation, including manpower, materials, tools, and equipment
• Monitor and maintain high-quality workmanship consistent with design and engineering documents
• Mentor and train mechanical team members to enhance skills and ensure best practices
• Lead by example in enforcing company safety policies and promoting a proactive safety culture on-site

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Red Seal Industrial Maintenance Mechanic (Millwright) certification
• Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical construction supervision
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, installation procedures, and applicable codes and standards
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Proven leadership skills with experience managing crews and subcontractors
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites as required

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in water control structures, welding and fabrication, or civil and cement components
• Experience with complex mechanical scopes such as actuators, motors, winch assemblies, or machining and tolerances
• Knowledge of medium to high-voltage substation construction
