About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform skilled maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting of HVAC, electrical, and steam distribution systems.
- Monitor and troubleshoot assigned systems and respond to work orders to ensure safety and operational compliance.
- Maintain and repair heating, ventilating, air conditioning, and steam distribution equipment to optimize energy use.
- Install and repair computerized electronic pneumatic and digital direct control devices related to HVAC and heat control.
- Read and interpret complex blueprints, piping, sketches, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Perform brazing, soldering, pipefitting, welding, and fabrication tasks.
- Maintain operational records, logs, and reports using hand tools, laptop computers, and diagnostic hardware.
- Requisition materials and supplies and coordinate with vendors for parts and supplies.
Requirements
- Five years of relevant HVAC experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Maine Driver's license.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and technical schematics.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in environments involving moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, and extreme temperatures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Single or a combination of licensing in mechanical, plumbing, and electrical trades (e.g., Journeyman plumbing/electrical).
- Certifications in refrigeration, natural gas, or propane.
