Mechanical Services Mechanic

Responsibilities

• Disassemble and assemble bearing housings and internal roll components using air tools, hand tools, and hydraulic pullers
• Perform visual inspections of roll components and parts to ensure quality standards
• Document repair requirements according to company manuals and instructions
• Safely handle heavy rolls and components (up to 60 tons) using overhead cranes and forklifts
• Troubleshoot, install, align, and maintain industrial machinery to improve reliability
• Maintain strict adherence to all plant safety, environmental guidelines, and PPE requirements
• Utilize basic hydraulics, pneumatics, and precision measurement tools in daily tasks

Requirements

• High school Diploma or equivalent
• 2 years of relevant manufacturing-related mechanical or millwright experience
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read blueprints
• Proficiency in precision measurement and basic computer/data entry skills
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, climbing, and pushing for extended periods

Preferred Qualifications

• 2 years of technical training
• Knowledge of bearings, chains, and sprockets
• Experience with troubleshooting techniques for industrial equipment
