Mechanical Reliability Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead defect elimination and root cause analysis (RCA) activities to improve plant reliability
• Develop, review, and optimize maintenance strategies for critical plant assets
• Analyze equipment performance and reliability data to identify improvement opportunities
• Lead equipment improvement, refurbishment, and reliability projects from concept to implementation
• Provide technical guidance and support for complex equipment failures and operational issues
• Coach and mentor maintenance personnel to promote a reliability culture
• Drive lifecycle asset management decisions and support long-term capital planning
• Support shutdowns, down days, and major maintenance activities

Requirements

• Mechanical Trade qualification with a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or an Engineering qualification with relevant reliability experience
• Significant experience in heavy industry large-scale manufacturing
• Strong knowledge of reliability-centred maintenance (RCM), defect elimination, and RCA
• Experience developing maintenance strategies and improving equipment reliability
• Sound knowledge of rotating equipment, hydraulics, lubrication systems, and condition monitoring
• Strong stakeholder engagement and problem-solving skills
