Mechanical Quality Inspector

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed mechanical inspections on incoming raw materials and sub-assemblies including structural steel and HVAC units
• Execute final inspections on finished Mobile Data Centers and PDCs to verify structural integrity and weatherproofing
• Maintain meticulous digital records of inspections, material certifications, and dimensional reports
• Identify and document non-conforming mechanical parts and assist in root cause investigations
• Utilize precision tools such as calipers, micrometers, weld gauges, and ultrasonic thickness testers
• Partner with Production and Shipping teams to communicate quality trends and refine handling procedures
• Ensure all inspections align with ISO 9001 standards and modular building codes
• Monitor safe handling of oversized mechanical components during loading and offloading

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• 3+ years of mechanical inspection experience in heavy industrial, aerospace, or modular construction
• Ability to read and interpret complex mechanical blueprints, structural drawings, and 3D CAD models
• Proficiency with precision manual measuring instruments and GD&T
• Basic proficiency with ERP systems and digital Quality Management software
• Physical ability to navigate large-scale units, climb ladders, and inspect chassis undercarriages
• Ability to participate in drug and alcohol programs for safety-sensitive positions

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical certificate or Associate’s degree in Mechanical Technology, Welding, or Quality Inspection
• CWI (Certified Welding Inspector) or ASQ Mechanical Inspector certification
• Experience with NEMA enclosure standards or HVAC system mechanical integration
• Experience operating heavy equipment like forklifts or cranes
• Previous experience in shipping/receiving for heavy industrial electrical equipment
