About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide operational leadership for the Madras shop, overseeing shop execution, technician resource planning, and tooling readiness.
  • Lead day-to-day shop operations, including technician assignments, workload prioritization, and stall organization.
  • Own the intake, prioritization, and scheduling of all Madras shop work requests to ensure predictable and safe execution.
  • Supervise shop personnel through staffing, training, coaching, and performance management.
  • Coordinate with test planning and project teams to support functional testing, RLDA, durability, and data acquisition activities.
  • Manage shop tooling and equipment lifecycles, including identifying capacity gaps and developing CapEx recommendations.
  • Drive continuous improvement by utilizing shop performance metrics to standardize processes and improve data integrity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations, Manufacturing, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 5–7 years of relevant experience (or 8 years in lieu of a degree).
  • Prior experience in a supervisory or team lead role.
  • Experience working in a shop, test, manufacturing, or operations environment.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex scheduling and cross-functional coordination.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of DTNA tools, systems, and documentation processes.
  • Strong understanding of truck mechanical systems and mechatronics.
  • Experience supporting durability, functional testing, or reliability validation operations.
  • Experience coaching and mentoring technical teams.
  • CDL and/or hands-on vehicle driving experience.
