About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide operational leadership for the Madras shop, overseeing shop execution, technician resource planning, and tooling readiness.
- Lead day-to-day shop operations, including technician assignments, workload prioritization, and stall organization.
- Own the intake, prioritization, and scheduling of all Madras shop work requests to ensure predictable and safe execution.
- Supervise shop personnel through staffing, training, coaching, and performance management.
- Coordinate with test planning and project teams to support functional testing, RLDA, durability, and data acquisition activities.
- Manage shop tooling and equipment lifecycles, including identifying capacity gaps and developing CapEx recommendations.
- Drive continuous improvement by utilizing shop performance metrics to standardize processes and improve data integrity.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations, Manufacturing, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- 5–7 years of relevant experience (or 8 years in lieu of a degree).
- Prior experience in a supervisory or team lead role.
- Experience working in a shop, test, manufacturing, or operations environment.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex scheduling and cross-functional coordination.
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of DTNA tools, systems, and documentation processes.
- Strong understanding of truck mechanical systems and mechatronics.
- Experience supporting durability, functional testing, or reliability validation operations.
- Experience coaching and mentoring technical teams.
- CDL and/or hands-on vehicle driving experience.
