Mechanical Maintenance Technician

Responsibilities

• Ensure high standards of maintenance and asset care across the brewery, utilities, and water treatment plants.
• Work across key production areas including raw materials handling, the brewhouse, the cold block, and utilities.
• Uphold safety, quality, food safety, and environmental standards and procedures.
• Collaborate with teams to identify and resolve equipment-related issues impacting performance.
• Coach operators on autonomous maintenance tasks and machine operational setups.
• Support capital work including installation, commissioning, and testing.
• Manage work order planning, spare parts planning, and the issuing of permits for external contractors.
• Apply Manufacturing Excellence tools to drive site performance and equipment efficiency.

Requirements

• Time-served Mechanical Technician.
• Minimum of a Junior Certificate or equivalent.
• Knowledge of PM (Preventative Maintenance) and Reliability Maintenance techniques.
• Proficiency in SAP-PM (Planning, scheduling, and execution).
• Strong root cause problem-solving skills and process improvement capabilities.
• Ability to organize multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a shift-based environment.
• Basic financial awareness regarding maintenance costs and budgeting.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working within an FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) environment.
