About the role
Responsibilities
- Diagnose running faults and ensure effective repairs and improvements are conducted within minimum time scales
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance practices
- Perform plant upgrades and modifications to required standards
- Report all work through the computerized maintenance management system
- Develop and implement planned preventative maintenance and inspection programs to minimize downtime
- Anticipate machine failures and recommend changes to prevent reoccurrence
- Maintain strict SHEQ standards and complete all related documentation
- Assist in identifying annual lifecycle requirements and preparing capital applications
Requirements
- Recognized Apprenticeship or Mechanical Engineer qualification (ONC/NVQ 3 level with mechanical bias)
- Knowledge of waste processing equipment
- Experience in an FMCG type environment
- Full UK car driving licence
- Ability to work in enclosed/restricted spaces and at height (overhead cranes)
- Physical fitness for maintenance on conveyors, magnet belts, and eddy current separators
- Ability to live within a 20-mile radius of the site
