About the role

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled inspections and non-destructive testing (NDT) on process equipment, including pressure vessels, tanks, boilers, heat exchangers, and piping systems.
  • Conduct internal vessel and tank inspections via confined space entry.
  • Perform elevated inspections on pipelines and columns.
  • Inspect weldments, coatings, glass-lined equipment, and fiberglass reinforced process equipment.
  • Complete detailed inspection reports and maintain documentation within the mechanical integrity database.
  • Collaborate with Senior Mechanical Inspectors and Reliability Engineers to evaluate complex findings and report major deficiencies.
  • Manage assigned initiatives and provide engineering support for complex projects.
  • Comply with all state, local, federal, and Michelin safety regulations.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a petrochemical plant, mechanical integrity, or a similar industrial environment.
  • Ability to carry up to 40 lbs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, and in environments requiring safety equipment such as respirators and harnesses.
  • Physical ability to perform frequent bending, reaching, lifting, climbing, and standing for extended periods.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant industry certifications such as API-510, API-570, API-653, CWI, PT level II, UT level II, or API-SIFE.
