About the role
Responsibilities
- Design high-level architecture and manage vehicle integration and test operations
- Define and author flight hardware integration flows, plans, processes, and procedures
- Evaluate proposed designs for manufacturability and integration
- Evaluate non-conformances to determine root cause and create actionable items and system improvements
- Work hands-on with flight hardware at build, test, and launch sites to ensure mission success
- Design ground support equipment to assist with the assembly, integration, and test of the spacecraft
- Create and communicate detailed schedules, ensuring the team is aware of tasks and deadlines
- Assist in recruiting, interviewing, and hiring additional teammates
Requirements
- Bachelor's of Science degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or equivalent
- 2+ years of hands-on mechanical engineering, manufacturing, or equivalent experience (including internships or club experience)
- Hands-on experience with handling, lifting, or building complex assemblies
- A passion for hardware development and working in a fast-paced environment
- U.S. Citizenship, Lawful Permanent Residency, or Refugee/Asylee Status required
- Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong electrical and mechanical systems engineering intuition and critical thinking
- Comfort with ambiguity and turning high-level requirements into clear design/test objectives
- Experience with 3D CAD
- Working knowledge of MATLAB or Python
