Mechanical Integration Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design high-level architecture and manage vehicle integration and test operations
• Define and author flight hardware integration flows, plans, processes, and procedures
• Evaluate proposed designs for manufacturability and integration
• Evaluate non-conformances to determine root cause and create actionable items and system improvements
• Work hands-on with flight hardware at build, test, and launch sites to ensure mission success
• Design ground support equipment to assist with the assembly, integration, and test of the spacecraft
• Create and communicate detailed schedules, ensuring the team is aware of tasks and deadlines
• Assist in recruiting, interviewing, and hiring additional teammates

Requirements

• Bachelor's of Science degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or equivalent
• 2+ years of hands-on mechanical engineering, manufacturing, or equivalent experience (including internships or club experience)
• Hands-on experience with handling, lifting, or building complex assemblies
• A passion for hardware development and working in a fast-paced environment
• U.S. Citizenship, Lawful Permanent Residency, or Refugee/Asylee Status required
• Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong electrical and mechanical systems engineering intuition and critical thinking
• Comfort with ambiguity and turning high-level requirements into clear design/test objectives
• Experience with 3D CAD
• Working knowledge of MATLAB or Python
