Mechanical Fitter

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical assembly and fitting of electrical switchgear and electromechanical equipment
• Work from engineering drawings, manuals, and technical documentation to build components
• Ensure high standards of workmanship and quality throughout the assembly process
• Identify and report defective or non-conforming components
• Support prototype and development builds
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized working environment
• Complete MTOs and support material ordering for allocated tasks

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter or Assembler in a manufacturing or engineering environment
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
• Experience using engineering hand tools and workshop equipment (e.g., punches, saws, benders, torquing tools)
• Strong attention to quality and safety
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in electrical switchgear manufacture or a similar environment
• Field service or on-site installation experience
• Familiarity with Risk Assessments and Method Statements
