Mechanical Fitter

Responsibilities

• Perform grinding of Finishing Mill and Roughing Mill work and back-up rolls
• Assemble Roughing Mill work rolls and Skin Pass Mill work rolls
• Change chucks for Finish Mill and Roughing Mill work rolls
• Use fine skills in measurement and assessment to test for roll defects
• Isolate equipment and perform routine and complex maintenance tasks
• Inspect quality-critical equipment and perform fault finding
• Resolve issues and fix non-conformances to ensure plant reliability
• Seek opportunities to continuously improve maintenance strategies

Requirements

• Mechanical trade qualifications
• Experience within a maintenance function
• Experience working both independently and as part of a manufacturing team
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to resolve issues effectively
• Commitment to safety, wellbeing, and care for others
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including 12-hour day/night rotations (DDNN) to support 24/7 operations
