Mechanical Estimator

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and present mechanical discipline estimates for major industrial projects
• Develop conceptual estimates, cost analysis, and comprehensive estimates for large, complex work
• Determine installation quantities from drawings and specifications
• Review plans, specifications, tender, and contract documents to build accurate construction-based estimates
• Coordinate with planning, scheduling, procurement, proposal, and legal teams
• Present estimates to management and external clients
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and project partners
• Support historical database updates and estimating process improvements

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or Technical Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of mechanical estimating experience on major projects
• Strong knowledge of the Canadian construction market
• Proficiency with MS Office
• Bluebeam software knowledge
• Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
• Well organized, detail oriented, flexible, and able to manage multiple priorities
• Willingness to travel to project sites or client meetings as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in industrial, hydro, oil and gas, or mining projects
• French language skills
