About the role
Responsibilities
- Teach curriculum developed by the department to maximize student learning
- Plan and organize instruction for day, evening, or weekend courses
- Prepare and provide syllabi for all assigned sections in accordance with college policies
- Employ appropriate teaching strategies and instructional technology to meet diverse student needs
- Evaluate and return student work in a timely manner to promote learning
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and submit final grade rosters by established deadlines
- Maintain strict confidentiality of student information
Requirements
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, mechanical engineering technology, or a related area
- Evidence of successful prior teaching experience
- Ability to give a presentation on a Mechanical Engineering Technology (MET) related topic during the interview
- Residency in Ohio, Indiana, or Kentucky (or ability to perform work within these states)
- Demonstrated commitment to improving student learning through innovative strategies
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in mechanical engineering, mechanical engineering technology, or a related field
- Experience with ABET accreditations
- Experience with CAD design skills, Additive Manufacturing, or product development
- Experience teaching in a community college environment
- Minimum of three years of recent and relevant industrial or professional experience
