About the role

Responsibilities

  • Teach curriculum developed by the department to maximize student learning
  • Plan and organize instruction for day, evening, or weekend courses
  • Prepare and provide syllabi for all assigned sections in accordance with college policies
  • Employ appropriate teaching strategies and instructional technology to meet diverse student needs
  • Evaluate and return student work in a timely manner to promote learning
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and submit final grade rosters by established deadlines
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of student information

Requirements

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, mechanical engineering technology, or a related area
  • Evidence of successful prior teaching experience
  • Ability to give a presentation on a Mechanical Engineering Technology (MET) related topic during the interview
  • Residency in Ohio, Indiana, or Kentucky (or ability to perform work within these states)
  • Demonstrated commitment to improving student learning through innovative strategies
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in mechanical engineering, mechanical engineering technology, or a related field
  • Experience with ABET accreditations
  • Experience with CAD design skills, Additive Manufacturing, or product development
  • Experience teaching in a community college environment
  • Minimum of three years of recent and relevant industrial or professional experience
