Mechanical Engineering Manager

About the Company

CoMind is developing non-invasive neuromonitoring technology to create a new era of clinical brain monitoring, helping to diagnose and treat brain disorders to improve patient lives worldwide.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of mechanical engineers, providing technical mentorship and setting development goals
• Own the mechanical engineering function from concept through to validated hardware
• Contribute personally to mechanical design work, including CAD modelling, tolerance analysis, and FEA simulation
• Drive design reviews, risk assessments, and V&V activities across mechanical subsystems
• Manage mechanical interfaces with optical and electronic subsystems
• Establish mechanical design standards and documentation in line with ISO 13485 and IEC 60601-1
• Manage relationships with contract manufacturers and suppliers to support DFM and manufacturing readiness

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in mechanical engineering
• 2+ years in a team lead or engineering management role
• Hands-on experience designing precision mechanical or optomechanical systems
• Proficiency with 3D CAD tools (SolidWorks or equivalent), tolerance analysis, and FEA
• Experience with DFM/DFA and managing contract manufacturers
• Experience in a regulated industry (medical devices, defence, or similar)
• Familiarity with IEC 60601, ISO 14971, and ISO 13485
• Experience with manufacturing assembly processes at production scale

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in optomechanical design or precision optical systems integration
• Experience with miniaturisation of complex electromechanical assemblies for portable or wearable devices
