Mechanical Engineering Leader

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of engineers and designers, fostering a culture of trust, teamwork, and high performance.
• Manage team workloads and monitor project status to ensure timely delivery.
• Provide individual coaching and professional development feedback to team members.
• Perform mechanical design tasks, including creating CAD models and documentation in SolidWorks from concepts or sketches.
• Develop and maintain bills of materials (BOM) considering manufacturing feasibility, cost, and function.
• Create assembly and dimensioned detail drawings compliant with company standards.
• Collaborate with external suppliers to specify standard and custom manufactured parts.
• Support other departments, including manufacturing and procurement, with technical documentation and drawing interpretation.

Requirements

• Engineering Degree or Certificate.
• 5+ years of mechanical engineering experience, ideally within manufacturing or plant industries.
• 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks and 3D CAD modeling.
• Experience designing pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Strong ability to read, interpret, and create complex mechanical and assembly drawings.
• Solid understanding of machine shop functions and assembly practices.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with machine mechanism design and form equipment.
• Knowledge of low-cost manufacturing methods and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for complex mechanical systems.
