Mechanical Engineering Intern

Responsibilities

• Support the design, development, and integration of spacecraft hardware and flight harnessing
• Contribute to concept creation, hardware build, and test campaigns
• Deliver fully qualified components for integration
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams
• Apply engineering and industry concepts to solve real challenges
• Participate in mentorship, tech talks, and professional networking events

Requirements

• Enrolled in a bachelor’s, master's, or doctorate program in engineering, physics, or math
• At least one semester of school remaining post-internship
• Minimum GPA of 3.0
• 3+ months of applied engineering experience (internship, lab, or personal projects)
• Ability to work full-time on-site for at least 12 consecutive weeks starting August or September 2026

Preferred Qualifications

• GPA of 3.5 or above
• 6+ months of applied engineering experience
• Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (NX & Teamcenter)
• Finite Element Analysis experience (ANSYS, Simcenter 3D, FEMAP/NASTRAN)
• 3D printing experience
• Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and machining experience
• Lathe machining experience
• Familiarity with spacecraft design principles and flight hardware harnesses
