Mechanical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of complex mechanical systems for UAVs, including airframes, propulsion, and payload integration
• Oversee development and testing of UAV prototypes to ensure performance and reliability
• Conduct in-depth stress, strain, and fatigue analysis for mechanical systems
• Develop and implement innovative thermal management systems
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate mechanical systems with avionics and software
• Drive R&D for advanced materials, including composites and lightweight alloys
• Lead root cause analysis for mechanical failures and implement long-term solutions
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior and mid-level engineers

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent experience
• 10+ years of experience in engineering roles
• Advanced proficiency in CAD and mechanical design software (e.g., SolidWorks)
• Knowledge of GD&T and drafting
• Experience with DFMA and tooling design
• Experience with FEA and advanced simulation tools
• Proficiency in fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, structural mechanics, and aerodynamics

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of dedicated UAV development experience
• Expertise in aerospace and UAS applications
• Experience with CFD and advanced simulation tools
• In-depth knowledge of 3D printing and advanced composite manufacturing
• Familiarity with aerospace certification processes such as DO-160 or AS9100
