Mechanical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead the design process to deliver cost-effective solutions within agreed programmes
• Prepare IFC drawings, schedules, datasheets, schematics, and P&IDs
• Perform detailed design, heat load calculations, and regular design reviews
• Prepare technical submittals for various materials and equipment
• Coordinate designs with other services such as electrical and PHE
• Mentor and coach junior team members within the engineering consultancy team
• Participate in team meetings and communicate effectively across WSP departments
• Identify and flag additional fees to the Local CRC Head of MEP

Requirements

• Proven experience in mechanical design and preparation of technical documentation
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MEP software, and Hevacomp
• Membership to an accredited engineering body (e.g., MIET, CIBSE, INSRAE, or ASHRAE)
• Strong working knowledge of ISHRAE and ASHRAE standards
• Ability to analyze and evaluate quotations and understand tender conditions
• Excellent presentation and communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision
