Mechanical Engineer Undergraduate Intern

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical and thermal systems for PCB layouts and programmable FPGA devices.
• Perform basic thermal and structural analysis, tolerance analysis, and detailed part design.
• Participate in prototype and production designs to reduce technical and schedule risks.
• Conduct design for manufacturing (DFM) and assembly (DFA) feasibility studies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams and suppliers on product feasibility.
• Document technical data, including CAD databases, technical papers, and specifications.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor or Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD or CREO (Pro/Engineer).
• Foundational understanding of mechanical or thermal design concepts.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of injection plastic molding and sheet metal processes.
• Experience with system design, PCIe card design, heatsink, or socket design.
• Proficiency in 2D drafting and application of GD&T principles.
• Experience with thermal modeling and simulation tools such as Icepak.
