Mechanical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Perform CAD design in SolidWorks
• Develop thermal models and perform thermal analyses using FlowSimulation
• Design and validate enclosure sealing solutions for environmental and IP6X requirements
• Generate, review, and release engineering drawings applying GD&T per ASME Y14.5 standards
• Produce assembly procedures and fixtures
• Take ownership of mechanical design for radio products and accessories
• Define, derive, and document mechanical system requirements
• Design, fabricate, and assemble prototypes and production fixtures
• Analyze designs for tolerance, yield, and environmental robustness

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field
• At least 5 years of product development and manufacturing engineering experience for high technology electronics
• Experience designing portable, rugged devices
• Proficiency in SolidWorks or other 3D CAD software
• Expertise in thermal modeling and thermal design
• Experience interfacing with Industrial Designers
• Understanding of various materials and fabrication processes (CNC, casting, molding, injection)
• U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in mechanical engineering
• Experience with electromechanical design
• Experience with radios or DoD products
• Personal Industrial Design skills
