Mechanical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design various systems and sub-systems including boring machine parts, support equipment, passenger/construction vehicles, and tunnel infrastructure
• Employ hand calculations, FEA, and CAD to develop and communicate complex designs
• Adhere to project schedules to ensure timely completion from conception to implementation
• Communicate schedule changes to stakeholders and dependent engineering teams
• Evaluate how individual design choices fit into the larger operational picture and future developments

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 1+ years of experience in design, build, and testing
• Hands-on hardware experience performing fabrication, assembly, and/or testing
• Willingness to travel to job sites to commission designs and troubleshoot issues
• Ability to work long hours and weekends as necessary

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Proficiency using SolidWorks
• Knowledge of mechatronics, mechanism design, fluid power systems, and material selection
• Experience creating manufacturing drawings
• Strong teamwork skills and ability to collaborate across engineering disciplines
