Responsibilities

• Create and manage detailed CAD models from component to spacecraft level
• Perform structural, kinematic, and thermal analyses using FEA and hand calculations
• Own the lifecycle of mechanical components from concept through manufacturing and deployment
• Develop DFM strategies to optimize for manufacturability, cost, and reliability
• Design and execute comprehensive test plans for launch and space environments
• Partner with supply chain and manufacturing teams to establish efficient production processes
• Collaborate with vendors to ensure flawless delivery of mechanical components

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• Proficiency with advanced CAD software (NX and Teamcenter preferred)
• Experience with FEA software (Ansys preferred)
• Minimum 2+ years of hands-on experience in mechanical design, analysis, testing, or manufacturing
• Strong understanding of GD&T principles
• U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent resident, or eligible for U.S. export authorization

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline
• 3+ years of professional experience in mechanical design of spacecraft
• Expertise in materials selection, advanced manufacturing, and surface treatments for space applications
