Mechanical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection systems for municipal water treatment, pumping stations, and industrial water applications.
• Develop design documents including drawings, specifications, and basis of design reports (BODR).
• Perform HVAC and plumbing calculations, including heating/cooling loads and system sizing.
• Coordinate design efforts with other multidisciplinary teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Respond to RFIs, review submittals, and conduct construction site visits to ensure design compliance.
• Mentor Engineers in Training (EIT) to strengthen their technical abilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with an NCEES record ready for multi-state licensure.
• Minimum of 7 years of professional engineering experience.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
• Experience with HVAC load calculation software such as HAP or Trace.
• Strong understanding of HVAC engineering fundamentals and design codes.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience designing systems for wastewater treatment plants, hydroelectric power plants, or chemical storage rooms.
• Familiarity with NFPA 820 requirements for wastewater treatment plant HVAC systems.
• Strong client presentation skills.
