About the role

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, select, specify, and engineer mechanical HVAC systems for diverse facilities including healthcare, industrial, and commercial projects.
  • Develop full documentation for new construction and renovation projects using sketches, electronic models, and diagrams.
  • Utilize Building Information Modeling (BIM) technologies to create three-dimensional models of mechanical systems.
  • Prepare and revise technical documentation including site plans, floor plans, diagrams, and details.
  • Participate in project coordination meetings with internal teams, external consultants, owners, and contractors.
  • Conduct field surveys of existing building conditions and prepare field reports and punch lists.
  • Provide basic mentoring to junior staff and support construction administration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering (with a mechanical emphasis).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the buildings design industry.
  • Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Experience with HVAC calculation software such as IESVE, Trane Trace, or HAP.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, energy, and NFPA codes, as well as ASHRAE standards.
  • Ability to perform technical writing for discipline-specific Basis of Design documents.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or currently working toward professional licensure.
  • LEED Green Associate or LEED AP certification.
  • Experience with Newforma and COMcheck.
