About the role

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and update mechanical systems for automated, semi-automated, and manual Nelson Stud Welding systems.
  • Investigate and recommend cost-effective improvements for existing products and equipment.
  • Participate in new and existing product launches using FMEA, DVP&R, and 8D methodologies.
  • Utilize DFMEA to capture lessons learned and drive continuous product improvement.
  • Provide expert technical assistance to manufacturing and repair personnel for troubleshooting malfunctions.
  • Coordinate the specification and build of complete systems to meet specific customer requirements.
  • Utilize Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) to mathematically model systems.
  • Collaborate with tooling component sources to verify test and performance requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 2+ years of experience in mechanical design and development or applications development.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and NX.
  • Experience with Unigraphics (UG) design.
  • Experience using PDM (PTC/WindChill) systems at a user level.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical engineering theory and general drafting skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% on a global scale.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Autodesk Inventor.
  • Understanding of engineering practices related to both electrical and mechanical systems.
