Mechanical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design custom instrumentation for extreme thermal, dynamic and pressure environments
• Design integrated product solutions for fluid and electro-mechanical assemblies
• Participate in the manufacturing line, including pressure testing, thermal testing, and laser welding
• Perform thermal, structural, and tolerance analysis using hand calculations and FEA
• Participate in initial mechanical design, 3D modeling, and creation of production drawings
• Conduct failure analysis related to thermal, loads, vibration, and shock
• Interface with machine shops and production teams to ensure manufacturability
• Lead and participate in internal and supplier design reviews

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, aerospace, systems, or electrical engineering
• 1+ years of experience with mechanical or electromechanical design and analysis
• Ability to work extended hours and weekends for critical milestones
• Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee to comply with ITAR

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with CAD and FEA software packages
• Exposure to high volume production and design for manufacturability (DFM)
• Experience designing for high vibration and high pressure environments
• Understanding of structural analysis, failure modes, and GD&T
• Experience with fatigue and thermal testing of electro-mechanical assemblies
• Experience working with PCB designers and exposure to PCB layout
