Mechanical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design packaging solutions for electro-mechanical assemblies
• Perform thermal, structural, and tolerance analysis using hand calculations and FEA
• Participate in mechanical design, 3D modeling, and creation of production drawings
• Conduct failure analysis related to thermal, loads, vibration, and shock
• Interface with machine shops and production teams to ensure manufacturability
• Own hardware delivery timelines from inception through assembly, test, and integration
• Lead internal design reviews and participate in supplier/customer reviews
• Ensure structural designs meet weight and rate targets using innovative manufacturing approaches

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering
• 1+ years of experience with mechanical or electromechanical design and analysis
• Ability to work extended hours and weekends for critical milestones
• Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee to comply with ITAR

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with CAD and FEA software packages
• Exposure to high volume production and design for manufacturability (DFM)
• Experience designing for high vibration environments
• Understanding of structural analysis and failure modes
• Experience with fatigue and thermal testing of electro-mechanical assemblies
• Solid understanding and application of GD&T
• Experience working with PCB designers and exposure to PCB layout
