Mechanical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Own hardware from conceptual design through high volume production and on-orbit operation
• Develop design criteria and collaborate on requirements for system-level optimization
• Rapidly iterate on designs and analysis to inform high level systems trades
• Drive holistic DFM to reduce piece part and process counts
• Establish efficient product lifecycles from supply chain to final integration
• Perform environmental and performance testing to validate analysis
• Own product delivery timelines from conception through launch

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline
• Experience with CAD and FEA software packages
• 1+ years of professional experience in mechanical/electromechanical design, analysis, testing, or manufacturing
• Ability to work long hours and weekends as necessary

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline
• 3+ years of professional experience in mechanical design and analysis
• 2+ years of hands-on project experience with complex mechanical systems
• Proficiency in 3D CAD (NX preferred)
• Solid understanding of GD&T
• Experience with material selection and manufacturing methods
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages
• Experience with PCB layout and PCBA mechanical design
