About the role

About the Company

Rhoda AI is building the next generation of generalist intelligent robots. We own the full robotics stack from high-performance hardware and robot systems to the infrastructure and state-of-the-art foundation world models that control our robots.

Responsibilities

  • Design and iterate on mechanical components and assemblies including cable management, rail systems, and fixtures
  • Design custom end effectors, fingers, and mounting hardware
  • Own the rapid prototyping cycle from concept through printed and tested parts
  • Support the integration of third-party components into the full system
  • Identify and implement design improvements for safety, reliability, and manufacturability
  • Create and maintain CAD models, drawings, and BOMs
  • Participate in QA processes and hardware testing
  • Assist in root cause analysis for hardware issues
  • Collaborate with senior mechanical, electrical, and software engineers

Requirements

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field
  • 0–2 years of experience in mechanical design or hardware engineering
  • Proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Onshape, or similar)
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes like machining, sheet metal, and 3D printing
  • Comfort working hands-on with hardware assembly and troubleshooting
  • Strong attention to detail and engineering documentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience designing end effectors, grippers, or task-specific tooling
  • Hands-on experience with FDM or SLA 3D printing
  • Experience with cable routing, harness design, or electromechanical integration
  • Exposure to robotics or complex mechatronic systems
  • Familiarity with GD&T and engineering drawing standards
  • Experience with design reviews, FMEA, or structured QA processes
