About the role
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and test mechanical components, equipment, and machinery for emergency response vehicles.
- Use CAD and CAE software to develop structural designs, model new designs, and produce detailed engineering drawings.
- Assist with fitness-for-use testing, product specifications, and process validation plans.
- Verify designs through mathematical calculations and analytical techniques.
- Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) methodologies to ensure robust engineering packages and manufacturing productivity.
- Identify root causes of technical problems and execute defined resolutions.
- Execute engineering changes through established documentation processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent education.
- 0-2 years of related engineering experience.
- Proficiency with CAD (Computer Aided Design) and CAE (Computer Aided Engineering) software.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and layouts.
- Strong PC skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Teams, and Outlook).
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, specifically metal fabrication and assemblies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with computer simulation and design optimization.
- Understanding of lean manufacturing principles.
- Knowledge of quality assurance processes and reliability analysis.
