Mechanical Engineer - Production Liaison

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to engineers and technicians regarding transit bus assembly
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues to ensure consistent flow and high-quality output
• Perform root cause analysis and resolve complex engineering challenges
• Apply lean manufacturing principles and process optimization to improve resource utilization
• Provide Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) input to design teams
• Develop and improve production processes to ensure efficient manufacturing
• Evaluate and address rapid requests from the supply chain
• Prepare and maintain process documentation to support safety standards and compliance

Requirements

• Bachelor or advanced degree in Engineering
• Minimum 2 years of experience within the Engineering industry
• Proficient mechanical troubleshooting and understanding of quality standards
• Experience with hands-on troubleshooting, product assembly, prototyping, testing, and validation
• Understanding of manufacturing processes and lean manufacturing principles
• Fluency in CAD software
• Familiarity with BOM structures and ability to create/understand mechanical drawings
• Experience in component design including DFM, DFS, and Value Engineering
• Experience working with component, engineering service, and testing suppliers

Preferred Qualifications

• Automotive, commercial, or heavy-duty vehicle design familiarity
