Responsibilities
- Perform pipe stress analysis using industry-standard software (e.g., CAESAR II, AutoPIPE) in compliance with ASME B31.1 or B31.3
- Support the design, analysis, and documentation of nuclear piping systems under ASME Section III Class 1, 2, 3, A, or B requirements
- Conduct pipe support evaluations, thermal expansion assessments, and seismic/operating load analyses
- Interface with cross-functional teams including structural, thermal, and system design engineers
- Prepare calculation packages, analysis reports, and design documentation for regulatory and quality reviews
- Assist in the development and implementation of piping design standards and design review processes
Requirements
- B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 3+ years of experience in pipe stress analysis and piping system design
- Proficiency with ASME B31 codes (B31.1/B31.3)
- Familiarity with design documentation and QA processes in regulated industries
- U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency is required
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with nuclear safety-related or safety-significant piping
- Working knowledge or experience with ASME Section III piping design
- Knowledge of Code Case N-755 and Code Case N-122
- Familiarity with P&IDs, pipe routing models, and piping isometrics
- Experience with SmartPlant, AutoCAD Plant 3D, or similar platforms
