About the role

Responsibilities

  • Design mechanical components, assemblies, and mechanisms for vehicle systems
  • Create and maintain CAD models, engineering drawings, and release packages
  • Own mechanical design problems from concept through build, test, and iteration
  • Work closely with manufacturing, supply chain, and test teams
  • Support prototype builds, fit checks, hardware bring-up, and root cause investigations
  • Participate in testing and validation of mechanical systems
  • Perform engineering analysis including tolerance stack-ups and hand calculations
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues on prototypes and vehicles

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • 1 to 3 years of mechanical engineering experience
  • Strong CAD skills in SolidWorks, CATIA, Siemens NX, or similar
  • Experience designing and manufacturing real mechanical hardware
  • Strong fundamentals in statics, dynamics, materials, and machine design
  • Ability to create clear engineering drawings and communicate design intent
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced hardware environment
  • Hands-on mindset with willingness to work in shop or lab environments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Leadership experience in Formula SAE, Baja SAE, or similar technical programs
  • Experience designing for machining, sheet metal, weldments, or additive manufacturing
  • Experience building and assembling mechanical systems
  • Exposure to prototype development and design iteration
  • Familiarity with FEA, MATLAB, or Python
  • Interest in transportation, automotive, aerospace, or robotics
