Mechanical Engineer - Packaging & Non-Chemical Components

Responsibilities

• Support the design, evaluation, qualification, and lifecycle management of non-chemical components including plastics, glass, rubber, and cardboard packaging.
• Provide on-site engineering support and troubleshooting for manufacturing processes and supplier facilities.
• Conduct root-cause analyses and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to resolve component issues.
• Develop and maintain component specifications, drawings, bills of materials, and mechanical test procedures.
• Plan and execute mechanical and functional testing to verify component performance, durability, and reliability.
• Perform process capability analysis (CpK) for high-volume manufacturing components.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage component-related engineering projects from planning through execution.
• Review and approve validation protocols and reports for packaging systems and manufacturing equipment.

Requirements

• BS in Mechanical Engineering preferred (Associates degree with relevant experience will be considered).
• 4-6 years of experience in the pharmaceutical, medical device, or biomedical industry.
• Familiarity with QSR and GMP regulations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Tools.
• Ability to interpret and resolve complex technical and design issues.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with MSTG.
• Proficiency in CAD software.
