About the role

About the Company

OLIX is building the next generation of AI infrastructure. The OLIX Decode Accelerator 1 (DX-1) is the first accelerator architected specifically for decode, utilizing rack-scale co-design of logic, data movement, packaging, optics, and interconnect to achieve a step change in system-level performance.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop mechanical systems for high-performance compute platforms, including chassis, enclosures, and cooling systems
  • Own mechanical architecture from concept through validation, production release, and lifecycle support
  • Drive thermal management strategies including liquid cooling integration and airflow optimization
  • Create detailed CAD models, engineering drawings, and bills of materials
  • Apply DFM, DFA, DFR, and DFS principles to ensure manufacturability and serviceability
  • Support rack-level mechanical architectures, including cable management and cooling distribution
  • Collaborate with Electronics, Optical, FPGA, and Manufacturing teams to achieve system-level objectives
  • Manage supplier engagement and component qualification

Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
  • Experience developing complex electromechanical products from concept through production
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD tools such as Creo, SolidWorks, or NX
  • Strong understanding of thermal management (liquid cooling, cold plates, airflow optimization)
  • Expertise in GD&T and ASME Y14.5 standards
  • Experience with manufacturing processes like sheet metal fabrication, CNC machining, and injection moulding
  • Familiarity with FEA and CFD methodologies
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary hardware environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with high-density compute platforms or data center infrastructure
  • Knowledge of industry-standard rack architectures
  • Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI) processes
