Mechanical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical systems for water supply, irrigation, drainage, and pumping projects
• Prepare engineering calculations, technical specifications, drawings, and equipment schedules
• Select and size pumps, valves, pipelines, filtration systems, and other mechanical equipment
• Conduct hydraulic and mechanical analyses to optimize system performance
• Supervise installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance activities
• Monitor project progress, quality, safety, and compliance with project specifications
• Review and coordinate design documents with civil, electrical, and environmental engineering teams
• Support procurement by evaluating vendors and reviewing technical submittals
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues and recommend corrective actions

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• 3-5 years of experience in Water & Irrigation within infrastructure and roadworks
• Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD, Revit, WaterGEMS, or EPANET
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic principles, pump selection, and pipeline design
• Understanding of international standards (AWWA, ASME, ISO) and relevant local codes

Preferred Qualifications

• TAQA competency card holder
• Professional engineering registration or certification
