Mechanical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead the transformation of Industrial Design concepts into functional, manufacturable products following the Newell Product Development Process.
• Create solid 3D/2D CAD models of components and assemblies using Solidworks or Creo.
• Develop engineering drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs) for prototype and production inspection.
• Collaborate with tool makers on Design for Manufacturing (DFM) to resolve technical issues.
• Organize team reviews on design concepts, BOMs, and prototype test results to ensure quality and timely delivery.
• Manage engineering data through Windchill ECN/ECR and follow established data management procedures.
• Oversee the prototype fabrication process and address any issues identified during evaluation.
• Work cross-functionally with Marketing, Industrial Design, Sourcing, and suppliers to meet cost, timing, and specification targets.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Tool Design.
• 3+ years of R&D experience in consumer products or household appliance development.
• 3+ years of experience using Solidworks or Creo.
• Strong manufacturing knowledge of molded plastic parts, aluminum castings, sheet metal, and surface coating processes.
• Experience with ERP or SAP systems.
• Fluent English (both spoken and written).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and detail-oriented skills.
