Responsibilities

• Design and develop spacecraft mechanisms, specifically deployable solar panels and radiators
• Conduct trade studies and apply First Principles Engineering Analysis to optimize satellite mechanisms
• Create and iterate detailed CAD models, including architecture, material selection, and assembly processes
• Perform classical and FEA analysis for static, dynamic, thermal, and fatigue load conditions
• Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and qualification plans
• Produce complete design packages including drawings, analysis reports, and BOMs
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth spacecraft integration

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field
• 1+ years of hands-on experience with satellite or launch vehicle mechanisms
• Experience designing mechanisms driven by stepper/BLDC motors, springs, and HDRMs
• Proficiency in developing design models and drawings using CAD software
• U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent resident, or eligible for U.S. export authorization

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering
• Project management experience for technical projects
• Expertise in materials selection for space applications
• Experience with large lightweight deployable structures
• Proficiency in NX and Ansys
