Mechanical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design and detail custom web handling machinery based on specific customer requirements
• Collaborate within a multidisciplinary project team including project managers, electrical engineers, and manufacturing staff
• Research customer specifications to conceive and develop mechanical system designs
• Create technical documentation, including detailed drawings and bills of materials (BOM)
• Perform necessary engineering calculations for strength, vibration, drive trains, and other machine functions
• Participate in design review meetings and provide technical support during factory acceptance tests
• Provide start-up assistance and field service for machinery projects (approximately 5% travel)
• Develop risk assessments, spare parts lists, and operation/maintenance manuals

Requirements

• Associate degree in a relevant field is required
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in machinery design and manufacturing processes
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and manage designers as a project lead

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Direct experience with web handling machinery
